Digital Transformation Starts with a Strong Foundation
Amid the rapid digital transformation in the financial and insurance sectors, an Indonesian insurance company realized the critical importance of having a reliable, modern, and future-ready network infrastructure.
With increasing demands for digital services and a firm commitment to security and compliance, the company took a strategic step to refresh its core network devices at both the Data Center and Disaster Recovery
Center (DRC).
The Challenge: Outdated Infrastructure Falling Behind
Before the project began, most of the company’s network equipment was approaching end-of-support status from the vendor and was no longer performing optimally to support increasingly complex data-driven services.
The risks of downtime, scalability limitations, and maintenance difficulties posed real challenges for the IT team in managing daily operations efficiently.
The Solution: Strategic Collaboration with Berca Hardayaperkasa
To address these challenges, the insurance company partnered with Berca Hardayaperkasa, a leading IT infrastructure solutions provider in Indonesia, to plan and execute the Network Device Refreshment 2024 project.
The project included:
Comprehensive technical assessment
of the existing network
Detailed project planning, including migration and fallback scenarios
Procurement and installation of the latest Cisco devices, including:
- o 2 Cisco Core Switches and 2 Server Farm Switches for the Data Center
- o 2 Cisco Core Switches and 2 Distribution Switches for the DRC
Seamless integration of new devices into the existing network without service disruption
Firmware upgrade/downgrade
based on field requirements
System Integration Test (SIT) and User Acceptance Test (UAT)
Cable management and permanent labeling for long-term maintainability
All processes were carried out with a focus on minimal downtime, efficient implementation, and thorough documentation as part of standardization.
